Disconnect the garage door opener from the top brace of the garage door panel.

Soak a clean cloth in soapy water and rub it over the adhesive if it has not dried yet. This will not remove it if it has dried completely. This will help loosen the nail glue from your skin. Make sure the water is sudsy and soak for around 15 minutes.
