In order to tighten the screws in a loose door knob or loose door handle you need to work on removing your loose door knob or loose door handle from the door that it is currently on.
Door knobs may become loose over time.
Remove the door rose by inserting a small screwdriver into the small notch in the rose and twisting the tool to pop it off.
If it is a threaded shaft you will have to twist the shaft s handle to make it flush with the door.
All you need to do is use a screwdriver to tighten any loose connections.
Remove the inside doorknob by locating the button like our model metal tab or wire clip on the side of the knob that acts as a release.

You can tighten a simple interior mortise lockset like the one shown at left as follows.
1 loosen the setscrew on the knob s shank.
Using an awl or small screwdriver push the button in all the way and at the same time pull off the handle.
The detent is a spring activated pin concealed or small thin plate attached to the spindle that protrudes into a doorknob notch which prevents rotation.
There could be other problems causing a loose door handle however such as a faulty locking mechanism.
Using either a screwdriver or allen key loosen the set screw and remove the handle which will uncover the shaft.
If exposed screws are being used you will have to find the set screw which is normally found on the inside of the door.
