I didn t set up any room area s or anything else for that matter.

Once you have tagged all the rooms go back into the revit link through visibility graphics and turn off the room tags.
Fortunately whenever you copy an element in revit it will always take on the phase of the active view regardless of what it was set to before.

In revit you need to show room areas in different phases and are not sure how.
If the phase names differ between the host and link check the phase mapping setup for the link.

The key thing to understand here is that revit rooms exist only in one phase.

When using the room tag command in a revit host model there is no room displayed to tag from the linked model the phase of the view in the host model does not match the phase that the room was created in.
We discovered an interesting problem on this project where the tag all feature would not work.
If you find that the room was not hidden in the view and the tag does not show up after placement then you may have some plan region interferences which is worth investigating.
Right click atop the room and unhide the room element to see if your room tag appears.
Because your model and the linked in model might have more elements in it you will want to make your own room tags so you can place them where you want in the room.
